Cemetery Tour – Back to School: 275 Years of Education, Schools, and Learning in Stockbridge

Cemetery Tour

Saturday, September 8 at 4 pm

Led by Stockbridge Library History Museum and Archives

Stockbridge, MA–Join us and learn about 275 years of education, schools, and learning in Stockbridge.  The first of many schools was John Sergeant’s mission school in 1739.  Since then, the small town has been home to a surprisingly large number of schools and teachers.  Come find out who was teaching what topics to whom.

We also will visit with shades, or ghosts, of former Stockbridge residents. They will give first hand accounts of their educational experiences.

This is the last of 5 monthly tours of the Stockbridge Cemetery, from May through September.

Parking is available at the old Town Hall on Main Street.  A suggested donation of $5.00 is welcome.
