Voices from the Workshop

Members of Michelle Gillett’s Writing Workshop will read from their work on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 4:00 p.m., at the Stockbridge Library.

This workshop offers community, inspiration, and guidance to writers as they develop their voices and writing.  A number of participating members have completed projects and published books, others have been experimenting, accruing and continuing.

About Michelle Gillett:

Michelle Gillett has been a regular op-ed columnist for The Berkshire Eagle for over twenty years. She is a contributing editor to The Women’s Times, an award-winning poet and a writing instructor.  Her work has appeared in The Boston GlobeOrionSanctuaryArt of the Times, and various other journals and publications.  Her most recent book is The Green Cottage, winner of The Ledge 2011 Poetry Chapbook Competition (published October 2011, available from The Ledge, 30 Maple Ave., Bellport, NY 11713).  Her other published works include A Kitchen Gardener’s CookbookIn Celebration of Motherhood, a collection of essays, and two collections of poetry, Rock & Spindle, a letterpress chapbook published by Mad River Press, and Blinding the Goldfinches, chosen by Hayden Carruth as winner of the Backwaters Poetry Prize and published in 2005. She received her MFA from Warren Wilson College and a BS from Skidmore College. She has inspired and helped numerous writers make progress toward the completion of their work.
