Are you curious about the Library’s new home at Stockbridge Station?  Then join us at the Station on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 4:00 p.m., when Jack Trowill and Pamela Green from the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum will provide a brief overview of the history of the railroads that have served Stockbridge from the infancy of railroading in the early 19th century to the present day, including the history of Stockbridge Station.  They will discuss why the railroads came to the Berkshires, where the tracks were laid, and how often the train came through town.  They also will describe how, over time, the change in the local economy and in technology affected the way the railroads have done business or gone out of business.  Finally, they will talk about the Stockbridge Station – who built the present station, and how it has changed over the years.
