Sunday Speaker Series: Local Government: Up Close and Personal

Town OfficesJoin us on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Selectmen’s meeting room at the Town Offices for Local Government: Up Close and Personal, a chance for Stockbridge residents (and others) to get a behind-the-scenes look at our town government.

Most residents only interact with town government on a few occasions: paying taxes, voting, and, of course, town meeting.  During this Stockbridge Library Sunday Speaker Series, Stockbridge residents can engage with town government on a more personal level.  As an initial matter, the program will answer the question: what is the day-to-day life of a town official?  The program also will preview current and upcoming projects at various levels and departments.  Interestingly, this program aims to explore a diverse cross-section of Stockbridge officials, including elected, appointed, and hired members of town government.  Participants include Police Chief Bob Eaton; Town Administrator Jorja Marsden; Board of Selectmen Chair Steve Shatz; and Sally Underwood-Miller, Chair of the Community Preservation Committee.  Stockbridge resident Jack Spencer, who has served on numerous town committees, will act as moderator.

Please note that this event will take place in the Selectmen’s meeting room at the Stockbridge Town Offices, 50 Main Street.
