Raymond-CrisPlease join us on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Jonathan Edwards Room at the First Congregational Church of Stockbridge (4 Main Street) for a talk by Cris C. Raymond about her experience working with America’s Camp, a one-week summer program for children who lost a parent or sibling as a result of the attacks on September 11 and for children or siblings of firefighters and law enforcement officers lost in the line of duty at any time.

Raymond-PhoenixCris C. Raymond, a native of the Berkshires, returned in 1989 after 12 years in Manhattan and 20 in Europe.  Her professional background is in book publishing.  In New York City she was an editor with publishers Harcourt Brace and with Simon and Schuster, and in Germany with Vieweg Verlag.  She continues to write and edit for several Berkshire County not-for-profit newsletters.  Ms. Raymond is presently on the boards of The Mount, the Stockbridge Bowl Association, the Literacy Network of South Berkshire, and the Board of Visitor at Miss Hall’s School.  She worked with the Children of 9/11 who, for ten years, came to the Berkshires for one week each summer, starting at
Camp Mah-Kee-Nac in Stockbridge.  In 2009, she published Where Can I Get a Phoenix?, a book about the incredible artwork the children created while at America’s Camp.
