Special Advance Screening of An American Conscience: The Reinhold Niebuhr Story

The Stockbridge Library is pleased to co-sponsor a special advance screening of the new film “An American Conscience:  The Reinhold Niebuhr Story” on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the First Congregtional Church of Stockbridge (4 Main Street).  This film, done by award winning Journey Films, portrays Niebuhr as the most celebrated public theologian of the 20th Century and includes interviews with President Jimmy Carter, Andrew Young, David Brooks, Cornell West, Susannah Heschel, and more.  Following the film, Professor Gary Dorrien, the Reinhold Niebuhr Professor of Social Ethics at Union Seminary in New York, will lead a discussion along with the film’s producer, Martin Doblmeier.
