Chief Daniel Nimham, Chief of All the Wappingers Natives

Mr. Robert Ulrich, a local Hudson Valley historian whose passion is American History, will give a program on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. about Chief Daniel Nimham.  It will span three major periods of American history: the early Dutch days (before the British took over), the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War.  Chief Nimham’s people had claim over major land portions in the Mid-Hudson Valley, but ended up losing all their land due to unscrupulous land traders and a lack of fair court justice.

Join us for this informative talk given by a guest presenter, Bob Ulrich, a local Hudson Valley historian whose passion for American History started after his retirement from a 30 year career with IBM.  His main focus deals with the Dutch (not the British) creating America, the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War.  To help explain the topics under discussion, Bob uses many visuals, along with little known background stories, adding a new way to learn about our history.
