Artist Reception with Valerie Fanarjian

During the month of August 2019, the Library is pleased to feature the artwork of Valerie Fanarjian in our lobby gallery.

At the age of three, Valerie Fanarjian began creating art on a weekend visit to an aunt’s house.  During the night, as her mother slept in the bed they were sharing, she drew all over the sheet of the bed.  Valerie has not been able to resist a blank canvas ever since.
Valerie’s art history is an amalgamation of processes she learned in and out of the classroom.  She holds an art education degree from SUNY New Paltz,  however, she considers her studies at the Woodstock School of Art and Women’s Studio Workshop to have been the most valuable to her work.  Since moving to the Berkshires in 2007, Valerie’s artwork has been shown locally and  at the Watertown Library outside of Boston.
A reception with the artists will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019; all are welcome.  The artwork will be on display throughout the month of August.
