Online Poetry: Medicine for the Soul featuring Dora Malech

Stockbridge, MA — The Stockbridge Library, Museum & Archives invites you to Online Poetry: Medicine for the Soul featuring poet Dora Malech on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. This event will be hosted virtually through The Stockbridge Library Zoom account.
Our highlighted poet will recite a number of poems and provide insight into one or several of the poems, immediately followed by a question and answer session. The online poetry event will last one hour.
The Stockbridge Library Online Poetry: Medicine for the Soul is pleased to host poet Dora Malech, author of four books of poems, most recently, Flourish (Carnegie Mellon University Press, 2020) and Stet (Princeton University Press, 2018). In 2019, Eris Press published Soundings, a UK Selection of Malech’s poems and drawings. Her poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry, The Best American Poetry, and numerous other publications. She is the recipient of awards that include an Amy Clampitt Residency Award, a Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship, a Mary Sawyers Baker Prize, and a Writer’s Fellowship from the Civitella Ranieri Foundation. She has been a Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome and a Distinguished Writer-in-Residence at Saint Mary’s College of California. She lives in Baltimore, where she is an assistant professor in The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.
