For the last four years, Robert and Elisa have been working on a cookbook that pays tribute to the farmers and farm-to-table chefs of the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, including neighboring New York, Connecticut, and Vermont, an area where they have lived part-time for over 35 years. Their book, The Berkshires Farm Table Cookbook, was published May 19th by The Countryman Press/W. W. Norton & Company. Who could have foreseen when they began this journey, that the book’s mission, increasing awareness of the health and environmental benefits of buying from local farmers, would be more important than ever when it came out? We are all scrambling to maintain our well-being during a time when our food options become more limited.

In The Berkshires Farm Table Cookbook, we meet farmers and chefs through personal profiles, striking photographs and kitchen-tested, homegrown recipes—125 in all. More than ever, during this crisis we need to support these hard-working, dedicated and principled people.
