And the answer is …

Last week you were given the challenge of identifying where the house pictured was located. There were not a lot of clues, beyond the fact the building was eventually torn down.

The answer to where was this house was is Elm Street. The house was originally located where the Franz/Miller house now stands. When the current house was constructed in 1915, the older building was moved to the rear of the lot. In this week’s photograph you can see the mercantile building (Stockbridge Coffee and Tea) on the left and the side porch of the Franz house on the right. The house would be where Elm Street Market now stands. – December 10, 2025
