
Various gourds, pumpkins, and other vegetables have been associated with the harvest season. In Ireland, turnips were carved to ward off evil spirits.
This week’s spotlight shows the harvest of Comfort Farm in Stockbridge at the turn of the last century. Comfort Farm was owned and operated by Peter I. Adams, who grew various items, including pumpkins. This image shows the fruits of a successful harvest with his children in the background. – October 26, 2025.
