This presentation will place special emphasis on Berkshire Opera Festival’s mainstage production of Verdi’s masterpiece “La Traviata,” a captivating story of love and sacrifice. Learn about the story’s origins in French literature, the role of government censorship in the creative process, and the remarkable feats of vocal ability required to sing the demanding leading role, and take a peek behind the scenes at the process of putting on an opera production in the Berkshires.
