Nicole Ogg is a painter and diorama artist who often plays with color to express a sense of abundance and chaos. Her work explores the seen and the importance of the unseen. Ogg draws inspiration from the natural world in order to understand the human experience; and she is interested in the concept that the terrain and landscapes are pictures of ourselves.
Ogg’s current work focuses on her interest in camp, traveling, and encampments and navigates themes of freedom and temporary and/or imaginary spaces and our interplay with nature. Her work also explores the sometimes surreal or absurd expressions of community.
Ogg was born and raised in New York City and studied Art History at Wellesley College and received a Masters degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University. She currently resides in the Berkshires and has established a studio in Housatonic, MA.
