This summer as a part of our Tails and Tales summer reading program, children can sign up for 10 minute time slots to read aloud to Toby, a 14 year old labrador retriever on the front lawn of the Stockbridge Library! Toby is a registered therapy dog with Pet Partners and will be joined by his owner Ruth Francis.
Research has proven that reading aloud to a dog can help children develop their reading and literacy skills and build self-confidence. Children are encouraged to bring their own favorite book to read to Toby, but are welcome to arrive early to check out a book from the Stockbridge Library to read from.
Time slots are limited and registration is required. Please fill out this Google Form to reserve your 10 minute time slot to read to Toby on Saturday, August 7th between 10:30 to 11:30.
Please pay attention to the date you are signing up for because Toby will be at the Stockbridge Library on multiple dates.
