

1945 saw the end of World War II in both theatres of battle. Each year the town of Stockbridge sent each service man and woman a card and a money order to say “Happy Holidays” and “We are thinking of you.” The “thank you” notes that were sent home were collected and each year we publish one of those letters as a reminder and tribute.
