This interactive workshop facilitated by Tom Truss is part of ReWritten, a performance project that reflects on the often silenced & overlooked intimate relationship between the authors Nathaniel Hawthorne & Herman Melville. Using the letters Melville wrote to Hawthorne – the ones from Hawthorne to Melville are missing – ReWritten investigates secrets, social morés, saying no to dreams when you want to say yes, & writing. In this workshop, we will explore how these authors inspired each other & how their words can inspire us to make art.
