Youth Services

The Stockbridge Library offers various services for youth of all ages such as weekly storytimes, craft programs, online resources for help with homework, and community-wide events such as author talks and our annual summer reading program. Recurring Youth Programs

Weekly Family Storytime

Join our youth librarian for a weekly storytime in the children’s room every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Each storytime will include a story and songs followed by free play with toys. Children of all ages welcomed.

Slime Squad

Join us on the first Tuesday of each month from 3:45pm to 4:30pm to make slime! Registration is required each month due to limited seating and supplies. Email rnicholson@cwmars.org or call 413-298-5501 to ask if there are spots available. For children ages 4+

Playdough Playdate

Join us on the first Friday of every month at 10:30am to squish, shape, and roll playdough all while making new friends! All supplies will be provided. Best for youth age 2+

LEGOs in the Library

Join us on the third Thursday of every month at 3:30pm for some free play with LEGOs. Best for youth ages 3+

Play With Clay

Join us on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 3:30pm to play with some clay! We’ll have all the supplies for shaping, making, and playing with clay. Best for children ages 3+

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Early Literacy Program

Do you love reading books with your little one? Join this self-paced early literacy program and read 1,000 books with your child before they start kindergarten and win free prizes along the way! Ask for a Welcome Folder at our front desk to get started or click here for more information.

Bag of Books

We love putting together a selection of books for our little readers based on their interests! You can find out how to get your bag of books by filling out our form.

Dial-A-Story

Want to listen to stories read by our Youth Librarian? Catch a new story every few weeks! Dial-A-Story offers a wide range of short stories for children aged preschool through Grade 3. The best part is, you can access this fun service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Craft Corner

Visit the Stockbridge Library any time we’re open to check out some books and make a craft at the craft table located in our children’s area.
