George Rickey: A Life in Balance with Belinda Rathbone

Join author of the new biography, George Rickey: A Life in Balance, Belinda Rathbone as she traces the story of Rickey’s evolutionary break from the familiar idiom of Calder’s invention – the mobile – to create a new language of kinetic sculpture all his own.

Belinda Rathbone is a biographer, historian, and fine arts journalist based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is the author of several critically acclaimed books, including Walker Evans: A Biography, The Boston Raphael, and The Guynd: A Scottish Journal. Her latest book, George Rickey: A Life in Balance, is the first full-length biography of the artist.

This lecture will be at the Stockbridge Public Library located at 46 Main St, Stockbridge, MA 01262.
