Travels With Witchcraft: A Historian Looks Back
John Demos is the Samuel Knight Professor of History Emeritus at Yale University. His books include ENTERTAINING SATAN: Witchcraft and the Culture of Early New England, THE UNREDEEMED CAPTIVE: A Family Story From Early New England, THE HEATHEN SCHOOL: A Story of Hope and Betrayal in the Age of the Early Republic, and THE ENEMY WITHIN: A Short History of Witch-Hunting. He is a past winner of the Bancroft and Parkman Prizes, and was twice a Finalist for the National Book Award.
He and his wife, Dr. Virginia Demos, a clinical psychologist and former staff member at the Austen Riggs Center, live in Tyringham, Massachusetts.
