December Artist – Joan Burkhard

Our featured artist of the month for December is Joan Burkhard. Come to the Stockbridge Library and enjoy her artwork on display in our lobby.

Artist’s statement:

In this complex, ever-changing world filled with challenges and deep tension, this exhibit of recent work hopes to lift your spirits, make you smile and, perhaps, evoke familiar memories. My oeuvre includes a wide range of subjects and embraces childhood experiences that exist playfully with wacky animal expressions.

With a background steeped in human services and social work, and with the intent to reveal our shared experiences, it remains important for me to connect with you, the viewer, and to offer you a warm and delightful visual experience.
