Annual Events

Given the Covid-19 pandemic, many events have been adjusted to meet the federal and local guidelines.  Please check back frequently or call the library at 413.298.5501 to get the most up-to-date information.

Fundraising Events

The Stockbridge Library Association hosts several fundraising events during the year. Annual events include a book sale and golf tournament, among others. From time to time the library hosts a special event such as a gala or a dinner honoring a friend of the library. Proceeds offset the operating costs of the library. Be sure to check the library calendar for dates of upcoming events.

Annual Book Sale

The library’s annual book sale usually occurs on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in July on the front lawn of the library. Hours are 9 to 5. There is a $5 admission fee for the preview period on Friday, from 9 a.m. until noon. No admission fee is charged at other times.

The sale typically includes around 16,000 books, CDs, and DVDs. Books are in good condition and sorted into more than 30 categories, including  history, gardening, art and decorating, crafts and hobbies, biography, children’s fiction and nonfiction, adult fiction, and mysteries.  Most books are priced between $1.00 and $3.00.

A small number of used books are on sale at the library throughout the year.

The library is grateful for donations of books for sale. It accepts adult and children fiction and nonfiction (please,  no textbooks or magazines.)  Books must be in good condition (no mildew) and can be dropped at the library any time of the year. For more information or large quantity pickup, call the library at 413-298-5501.

Volunteers to help with pricing and sorting books or with the sale itself are always welcome.  For more information, call the library at 413-298-5501.

Annual Meeting

The library holds its Annual Meeting in the Bement Room in May. New Board members are announced at this event, and a program and refreshments follow.
